There are four bands at Normanhurst Public School they are:
- training band for students in Year 3 or those just learning to play an instrument
- Intermediate band for students in Year 4
- concert band for students in Years 5 and 6
- ensemble band an extension band offered to students seeking to challenge themselves further. Students are required to pass an audition to join this band.
Students usually start in the training band in Year 3 which means registering at the end of Year 2. We usually except new enrolments through out the year, placing them in a band suited to their experience and level.
