Attendance and absences
Students must attend school regularly so they can achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options.
In NSW, all children from the age of 6 are legally required to attend school or be registered for home schooling through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). All students must complete Year 10, or its equivalent and remain in school, employment or training until they turn 17.

Anti-bullying plan

Student leadership procedures
At Normanhurst Public School. we focus on developing our students leadership skills through formal leadership programs and practical leadership experiences. This approach recognises that students can be leaders across many different areas and that leadership skills learnt in primary school can lay the foundations for future leadership success. Student discipline plan
We strive to provide a positive and engaging learning community where students develop the knowledge, skills and values to be respectful, to be responsible and to strive for success.

The procedure guides student use of digital devices and online services at Normanhurst Public School. We acknowledge the educational value of digital devices and online services in supporting and enhancing educational outcomes and student wellbeing. We recognise they may cause harm if used inappropriately and that we need to support our students to use them in safe, responsible and respectful ways.

Homework Policy
The Homework Policy is based on the NSW Department of Education and Communities Homework Policy (2012). It has been compiled with qualitative data collection from the whole school community and based on current research into the purpose and benefits of homework.
